Her eyes held the knowledge of eons
She had been here before
And she knew what she had to do
She felt the lightness of the angels’
Support in this moment
She knew her actions were supportive
For she saw the other angel smile
Giving her the go ahead
To hold the grieving child
Who needed so much
Safe and nourishing touch
This is what she had to do
To show how to give loving touch
To be part of the army
That shows just this
Ah. That’s why you cannot hear
You think you have to hear sound
That’s what our ears are for
To hear sound
True
So
So listen
To what
To yourself
To your own self
Be quiet and listen
You will hear feelings from within
Feelings that have no sound
Their vibrations are unique to you
They exist within only you
They have not yet reached the outer world
Where sound is available to all
We can all hear the birds
The trains and the ocean
We cannot hear the vibration of your heart
But if you listen you can
This is a lovely saying from the Bhagavad Gita, the meaning of which I understand more and more from time spent with Angela and the herd:
Lift up the self by the Self
And don’t let the self droop down
For the Self is the self’s only friend
And the self is the Self’s only foe
And having just re-read Black Beauty for the first time since childhood, I came across this wonderful sentence that resonates with the same theme for me:
“Every man must look after his own soul; you can’t lay it down at another man’s door like a foundling & expect him to take care of it” (Anna Sewell, Black Beauty)
She smiled with absolute joy

Beautiful and very moving Sarah, thanks so much for sharing your gifts with us, Angela
Hey listen
What can you hear?
Nothing
Impossible
How can you hear nothing?
Easily
There is no sound

Hi Juliet,
Thanks for sharing these two lovely sayings, they’re both powerful and beautiful reminders about taking care of our Self and our Soul.
